Most Mumbai families live in high-rise flats where the floor plate, the entrance and the facing were fixed long before they moved in. A flat in Andheri, Powai or Thane is read as its own small plan: where the main door sits within the flat, which corner holds the kitchen, and which bedroom can carry the weight of the south-west. The direction the building faces matters less than people expect. The position of the door and the use of each room matter more.
Sea-facing flats along Worli, Bandra and Juhu raise one question more than any other: which direction the water lies in. Water to the north or east reads well. A west or south view is not a defect, but the plan around it is read more carefully, especially the bedrooms on that side. Older buildings in the island city often have narrow, deep plans with the kitchen and bathrooms grouped along one wall, so the useful work there is usually separating the stove from the sink and keeping the centre of the flat clear.
Many societies across the suburbs are being redeveloped. If yours is rebuilding, the floor plan stage is the moment to ask for the entrance, kitchen and master bedroom to sit in the right part of the new flat, before the layout is frozen.

Most Mumbai consultations start online. You send the floor plan and a compass reading taken away from steel and electrical fittings, and we go through the plan with you on a video call. On-site visits across Mumbai and Navi Mumbai are by prior appointment, and are most useful when the plan and the flat do not match or the readings disagree.
Remedies are chosen to work inside a fixed builder layout and within society rules: how each room is used, where heavy furniture stands, lighting, colour and placement. Nothing structural is needed in most flats.
